Italian dancer, Marilisa Gallicchio, resides in Vilches, Jaén where she works daily with the Marcat Dance Company, which through their work she was a finalist for “Best Female Contemporary Dance Performer” (Lorca Awards, 2022 and 2023).

At age 19, she moved to Madrid to attend the María de Ávila Conservatory, where she met and worked with choreographer Mario Bermúdez in the creation of Preludio. Immediately after, she began working with Marcat Dance, with whom she has had an extensive and deep connection to the present. The collaboration with the company began in 2019, where Marilisa participated in the original creation of the piece Anhelo produced by the Itálica Festival. Through this piece she had the opportunity to perform in theaters such as the Roman Amphitheater of Itálica in Seville, the Auditorium of Tenerife, the Teatro Falla in Cádiz and the Teatro Pèrez Galdós in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. Since then, she participates in all creative processes and tours with the company’s renowned productions such as Orpheus’s Fall, Adama, Huesos de Madera, El Bosque, and the company’s new creation, Averno.
